The genesis of the Ashtaang centre can be traced back to 1997 when Sri Sankara Ayurvedic Centre was established at South Extn part 1, with a tie up with Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (Coimbatore) Ltd. In the year 2000, S.S. Ayurvedic Alternative Pvt. Ltd. was floated and Ayurvedic Alternative was introduced as the brand name for the company. The first Ayurvedic Alternative centre was established at Shivalik, Malviya Nagar and subsequently at Mayapuri.
